SPB Mobile Shell

by venukb on September 24, 2007

SPB Mobile shell is an extension for the boring default user interface of a Windows Mobile powered Pocket PC phone. Key feature include:

  • Phone style menu
  • Weather forecasts
  • Photo speed dial
  • World time
  • Launcher
  • Big dynamic tabs on Today
  • Color based themes
  • Smart contact search spb2

The SPM Menu based navigation loads faster and you can quickly launch application of your choice.

Even the Now Screen is pretty detailed and gives a quick overview of

  • Messages – Email/SMS
  • Missed calls spb1
  • Volume level
  • Weather
  • Date and time
  • Appointments/Meetings.

More screenshots of the shell can be found here !

Most of these features are already available on the Today screen of HTC Touch and hence SPB Mobile Shell might not be a good replacement option.

However this shell might a worthy replacement for the default UI provided by other pocket PC vendors.

A bit unrelated, but can you point me to any RSS reader app for Symbian60(Nokia N73)?

This is really nice. I suggest you try the new version of Mobile Shell. I use it on my T Mobile Wing and it works magic. It takes the normal Windows Mobile UI and replaces it with eye candy.
