TLA Cheque !
Yesterday I received a cheque from Text Link Ads and I was surprised to see 25$ printed on it. I never realized that somebody has signed up via my TLA referral link.
Generally I direct all payments to my PayPal account, however by mistake I had set the payment option to Cheque on TLA and also the minimum amount was set to 25$.
I am sure if I drop on to my savings accounts, its going to take at least a month. Also I am not sure about the bank charges for USD Cheque’s.
I checked with TLA if they could cancel this cheque and send the same to my PayPal; However they replied back saying that the cheque cancellation charge will cost 30$ !!!
Anyone know how to en-cash this cheque with the least penalty ?

First of all, congrats on getting the cheque and woops for the situation you are in
I think that you should simply go ahead and drop it in the savings account or rather contact your bank directly and see what they can suggest you on this.

Well, I’ve been making around $ 70 per month with TLA and the best thing is that the ads are not obtrusive, so I think that’s its worth sticking around with this network.

70$ is quite a good amount from my perspective :). As of now I have only 2 advertisers having links on specific posts !

I too had the same situation, I had given check and somebody had signed up with my referral and they sent me a check for 25$. I knew the bank would deduce some charges. I contacted TLA and they were kind enough to sent the amount to my Paypal. I had sent the check back and the copy of the email. Now I got the 25$ in my Paypal. I heard there are some ppl in TLA who are rather very strict on these things. May be you can try contacting them once again.
Yeah Nirmal, they asked me to return the cheque and they did agree to send the amount via paypal once they receive the cheque.
I still am wondering as to what the fees that will be charged for clearing international cheques..
I make it a point to use my paypal account wherever possible.. Checks are a strict no no for now!
